"After serving over 30 years in the military and living a rather complicated life, events had taken their toll on me and I found myself in a particularly bad place, both physically and mentally. I felt that I had tumbled from a glowing military career to the lows of incarceration. However, I found just enough inner strength to keep moving forward and one day, a friend pointed me to PTSD Resolution. Worried what would happen if I 'opened the box', I buried my head and tried to hide from myself.
"When I left the prison system, however, I found myself free of the strains of service life and the doldrums of incarceration, which made me want to rebuild my life. So I took the best and bravest step forward - I contacted PTSD Resolution. I remember sitting in a field on a sunny day talking to a kind-sounding lady to book myself in. Afterwards, I felt a burden had already started to shift and the deeply buried pride I had for myself began to show itself again.
"Over the coming months, I re-found myself, and the sessions helped me so much to deal with my issues. I gave myself totally to these sessions; they were simple yet so very effective. After quite a short time really, I began to accept and understand the 'new me'. Nowadays, I still recognise the situations that caused me stress, but I am able to deal with them in a different and positive way. I no longer have bad dreams, cry at nothing, feel angry for no reason or am scared by certain noises.
"I am proud of myself for what I have achieved, but I am forever grateful for the help and support from PTSD Resolution. Thank you for helping me find myself again."
