TATE

At PTSD Resolution, we have been working with trauma for years.  Now, more than ever before, good quality information about this subject is crucial

We provide bespoke training solutions for individuals and organisations seeking to ensure that they, and their staff, are able to cope well during difficult times, identify when problems may be emerging and, most importantly, know what tools, strategies and support mechanisms they can use to recover, if a problematic post-traumatic response does arise.

Training is currently delivered online, using a video conferencing platform such as Zoom, meaning that employees working from home can easily attend.  The training sessions are live and fully interactive, with ample opportunity for group discussions and individual questions to the trainer.

Our TATE sessions vary in length, from a two-hour interactive presentation through to a full day of teaching and activity, and are designed to introduce staff, line managers and senior management to key understandings about trauma, and then to use this information as a firm foundation for exploring how to both prevent and recover from symptoms and move from post-traumatic stress towards post-traumatic growth.

Who will benefit from this course:

NHS staff, Blue Light Service Personnel, managers, line managers, security and counter-terror operatives, HR and Learning & Development staff, and, indeed, all staff members in all organisations.

The course enables attendees to:-

• Recognise the signs and symptoms of post-traumatic stress

• Understand why these symptoms occur and how trauma ‘works’ (confusion and fear around symptoms plays a  large part in individuals not seeking help)

• Develop coping and self help strategies which can both prevent difficulties and promote recovery from symptoms

• Identify ways in which an organisation can create an environment that empowers staff to build resilience and thrive  - even during difficult times

PTSD Resolution is the first national treatment agency to offer TATE, based on the successful programme used by our therapists to help UK Forces' Veterans. Our trainers also have a wealth of clinical experience working with front-line NHS and blue-light service personnel.

Feedback we have received:

“The best day’s training I have ever attended. Period.”
 Specialist Paramedic

“Makes very complex issues easily understandable and I am taking away far more than I expected from today. I know what signs to look out for now and I’ll  feel much more confident dealing with students who are distressed.”
University Welfare Officer

“I recognised my husband in so many of the slides that were shown today. Now I know what’s going on I can try to encourage him to get help and know where to turn to get it”.
HR manager and Veteran’s Wife.

What NHS delegates say:
Excellent training, very well delivered with a balance of activities to support learning. Clear and well explained”

“Best training that I have done in a long time. Recommended to all my colleagues.”

TATE Programme FAQs - Trauma Awareness Training for Employers
Understanding TATE for Your Organisation

Q: What is TATE? A: TATE (Trauma Awareness Training for Employers) is PTSD Resolution's professional workplace mental health training programme. Using the Human Givens approach, TATE equips HR professionals, line managers and senior leadership in commerce and charities with practical skills to recognise trauma symptoms, support affected employees, and create psychologically safe workplaces. Led by experienced trauma therapists like Ros Townsend, the programme has successfully trained many professionals in a range of occupations.

Q: Why do organisations need workplace trauma training? A: Trauma affects workplace productivity, employee retention and organisational culture. With veterans comprising significant portions of many workforces, plus increasing awareness of workplace mental health, organisations need practical tools to support affected staff.
