Supporting Female Veterans, Service Wives, and Military Families
ID: news 191

This International Women’s Day, we honour the strength and resilience of female veterans, service wives, and military families.
At PTSD Resolution, we recognise that the experiences of women in the Armed Forces are often different from those of their male colleagues. Many face challenges such as bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, moral injury, and exclusion from veteran support services. Despite their service, 73% of female veterans report witnessing or experiencing sexual discrimination—a reality that can have long-term impacts on mental health and well-being.
But the impact of military life isn’t just felt by those in uniform—wives and families also serve in their own way. They experience the stress of deployments, the uncertainty of military life, and the emotional toll of supporting loved ones through trauma and transition. Their sacrifices often go unseen, but they are just as real.
At PTSD Resolution, we are committed to:
- Free, confidential therapy for female veterans, service wives, and families affected by trauma
- Safe, inclusive, and accessible support, recognising the unique needs of female veterans
- Therapists who understand, including female veterans who now support others
We believe that no one should feel alone in their struggles. Whether you served, supported someone who did, or are carrying the weight of military life in any way—your experiences matter, and help is available.
