PTSD Resolution (Charity No. 1202649), the UK charity providing free mental health treatment to military veterans, has agreed with Bridge for Heroes to deliver comprehensive trauma therapy services across the Eastern England region as part of the £7 million Thrive Together East programme.

The partnership guarantees that veterans referred through Bridge for Heroes' extensive network will receive therapy within two weeks, addressing a critical gap in mental health provision across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Charles Highett, CEO of PTSD Resolution, said: "This partnership with Bridge for Heroes represents a significant expansion of our reach in Eastern England. By integrating our evidence-based Human Givens therapy with Bridge for Heroes' grassroots support network, we're creating a seamless pathway from first contact to recovery. No veteran should wait months for mental health support, and this collaboration ensures they won't have to."

Under the agreement, PTSD Resolution will provide:

    • Free mental health therapy to all veterans, reservists and families accessing Thrive Together East services
    • Rapid referral system with therapy beginning within two weeks
    • Choice of online or face-to-face sessions through their network of 200 Human Givens therapists
    • Trauma Awareness Training for Employers (TATE) for Bridge for Heroes staff and partner organisations
    • Support for families through our FAITH program
    • Specialised support for complex cases including those with addiction issues or in the justice system

The partnership builds on PTSD Resolution's proven track record of treating nearly 5,000 veterans to date, with 82% completing their treatment programmes and achieving a 79% reliable improvement rate. At just £940 per course of treatment, the charity delivers exceptional value whilst maintaining a 66% recovery rate for PTSD cases.

Steven Russell, Chair of Bridge for Heroes, commented: "PTSD Resolution's rapid response model perfectly complements our drop-in centre approach. Veterans can walk through our doors without an appointment and know that specialist trauma therapy is available within days, not months. This is transformational for our community."

The collaboration forms part of the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust's Thrive Together programme, which Bridge for Heroes leads across Eastern England. The initiative aims to create sustainable support networks ensuring no veteran falls through gaps in provision.

Key features of the partnership include:

    • Streamlined referral protocols eliminating the need for veterans to repeat their stories
    • Dedicated referral system specifically for the Thrive Together East region
    • Joint crisis management protocols for veterans experiencing acute mental health challenges
    • Collaborative approach to complex cases requiring multiple interventions
    • Shared best practice and research to continuously improve services

PTSD Resolution's Human Givens therapy approach, which doesn't require veterans to repeatedly relive traumatic experiences, has proven particularly effective with military trauma. The charity's therapists are specially trained to understand military culture and the unique challenges veterans face transitioning to civilian life.

The partnership also extends support to family members, recognising that military trauma affects entire households. PTSD Resolution's FAITH programme (Family Assistance & Intervention for Trauma Healing) ensures spouses, partners and children can access appropriate support alongside the veteran.

Bridge for Heroes will promote PTSD Resolution services across their network, including their King's Lynn drop-in centre and new Norwich facility, while providing meeting spaces for therapists conducting face-to-face sessions in the region.
Veterans seeking support can access services through Bridge for Heroes' drop-in centres or contact PTSD Resolution directly on 0300 302 0551. No GP referral or formal diagnosis is required.
