"I started to experience the symptoms of PTSD about two years ago. At the time, I didn't realise what was wrong with me or even why I felt so bad. This may sound strange but people who have had PTSD will understand. As my illness progressed, I lost my family and ended up living in a friend's bedroom.
"The only saving grace was that I managed to keep my job. Eventually I found PTSD Resolution who put me in touch with a local therapist and I started treatment soon after. My therapist was so caring and knowledgeable that I was able to get my life back on track, and for this I will be eternally grateful. If I had not had this therapy, I don't know where I'd be or what I'd be doing right now.
"I urge other ex-squaddies to not suffer in silence. Get in touch with PTSD Resolution: it is run by people who care and the help is fantastic. I am not completely free of my PTSD but I now know to deal with the nightmares, stress and anxiety."
