DS, Service in N. Ireland & the Gulf.

"I experienced several traumatic events during my military career. The first of these was during Basic Training but I had further traumas while on active duty in Northern Ireland and the Gulf. I didn't develop the symptoms of PTSD until many years later. In fact, it was during my work in counselling others that my PTSD was triggered. "I first reached out to the NHS and the Ministry of Defence for help but found neither of these services to be of any use . Luckily, the National Gulf Veterans and Families Association put me in touch with PTSD Resolution and treatment began soon after. "PTSD Resolution uses the Human Givens Approach and I really believe that this is the best way of dealing with trauma experienced by veterans. I have experience with other forms of therapy and counselling and these have only exacerbated the symptoms. But my treatment with PTSD Resolution has had a real effect: I have become more assertive and more open and my relationships with others have improved. I can better express myself and I really feel that my self-confidence and self-awareness have improved. This treatment has given me the skills I need to get my life back on track. I now feel good and I have chosen (and can envision) a new future for myself. "I highly recommend PTSD Resolution to other veterans. It really is effective because it deals with the present instead of dredging up the past. My only complaint is that not enough people known about PTSD Resolution and their therapy. I hope they can reach out to more people who are suffering."
