“My husband left the Army in 2010, just before we became a couple and three years before we got married. At the time of our marriage, I knew that he could be angry, but I was not prepared for a future with PTSD. Life quickly became a rollercoaster of highs and lows. My husband would punch the furniture, storm out and refuse to talk to me about his problems. He also threatened me with divorce and told me he was suicidal. One day, I broke down and told my husband that I needed counselling to cope with all of this. He came along with me and ended up seeing the counsellor himself. Things improved for a little while but when they rapidly deteriorated again, I sought help from his Army friends.”

“I was aware of PTSD through my work and was lucky enough to access some training to help me better understand its impact. We also sought help from Combat Stress, but when I heard about PTSD Resolution and its unique approach, I convinced my husband to ask them for help.”

“My husband and I completed a course of therapy together and then I completed a course on my own. My therapist was brilliant — she was patient, calm and empathetic to the point that I knew I could trust her from the very beginning. She didn't pressure me in any way or try to direct our sessions. I can't thank her enough.”

“Living with PTSD can make you question your very self, but the sessions I received gave me a voice again. I now understand PTSD more and how it affects my husband's behaviour. My husband's PTSD has less of an impact on our marriage and our family than it did before, and I have learned to accept certain behaviours for what they are. In turn, this has created a calmer and happier home environment. I now find time with my family very precious and I want to spend as much of it together as possible.”

“I would absolutely recommend PTSD Resolution to others. It was a safe place to talk and made me feel valued and listened to.”
